PADMA ACIBEN is a dietary supplement with calcium carbonate* and five aromatic herbs developed to maintain a balanced gastric climate.
The PADMA original formula is based on the Tibetan formula “cong zhi 6” (pronounced “tsong schi”). It contains the name-giving mineral calcium carbonate*. Translated, it means: soothing (zhi) the chronic mucus (cong).
In the Tibetan constitutional doctrine, this ingredient plays an important role in restoring and maintaining the balance between the three body energies (Lung, Tripa und Beken). It supports the digestion and harmonizes “hot stages”.
The plant composition has a bitter and spicy taste and neutralizing properties.
*Calcium contributes to the normal function of the digestive enzymes. It reacts alkaline in aqueous solutions.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT
The stomach and our eating habits
The stomach is lined with the gastric mucosa. It contains special cells that produce enzymes, hydrochloric acid and mucus.
Thus, undesirable microorganisms are killed, and proteins are split into smaller, more easily digestible components.
Lush meals, fatty foods and too much sugar disturb the gastric climate and the function of the digestive enzymes.
Heavy, spicy and fatty foods, sour and raw aliments, stress, fast and hasty meals or obesity, lack of exercise, and stimulants such as alcohol, caffeine and nicotine can affect the inner balance of the body.
These disruptive factors can have a negative effect on the stomach and thus inhibit digestion. Over a longer period of time, the stomach climate is disturbed.
The Tibetan perspective
According to the Tibetan theory, whenever the stomach climate is disturbed, the Beken energy is increased, which in turn weakens the digestion and thus the digestive fire “medrod”. Fatty, acidic and raw foods or consumables lead to the development of excess gastric juices and additionally weaken the digestion.
Whenever the Beken energy in the stomach area is disturbed, the balanced gastric climate “powa sung chub” gets out of balance.
The digestive enzymes cannot completely decompose the food into its individual components, and gastric juices enter the esophagus.
This is perceived as an unpleasant burning sensation. The sensation often occurs when lying, bending down or lifting, and after eating food which strain the stomach climate.
