PADMA HEPATEN for the protection of a normal liver function

  • contains fruits and choline
  • vegan

PADMA HEPATEN is a dietary supplement containing three fruits (types of myrobalan) and choline* to protect normal liver function.

The original PADMA formula is based on the Tibetan recipe “Bras bu 3” (pronounced “De bu 3”).

The 3-fruit formula is a balancing formula with special effect on the liver. It harmonizes the chintri (Tibetan for liver heat).

The 3-fruit formula is regarded as the basic formula. It balances out all three body energies (Lung, Tripa and Beken).

In the Tibetan constitutional doctrine, liver energy forms the elixir of life and gives vitality and energy.

The plant mixture has a bitter and slightly sour taste as well as a neutral thermal quality.

*Choline helps to maintain a normal liver function.

From the point of view of the Tibetan constitutional doctrine, alcohol, nicotine, fatty foods, chemical preservatives and additives, certain medicines and pollutants from the environment have hot qualities and are therefore categorized as “toxic substances”. These so-called “toxins” increase the liver heat chintri and put strain on the liver energy.

This energy imbalance leads to a general feeling of exhaustion, general discomfort and lack of energy. Further it can also cause people to wake up in the night between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m.

PADMA HEPATEN is a dietary supplement containing three fruits and choline bitartrate* to protect normal liver function.

Dietary supplements are not a substitute for a varied and balanced diet, which along with a healthy lifestyle is of great importance.

PADMA HEPATEN is available in pharmacies, drugstores and selected health food stores in Switzerland.

INGREDIENTS

PADMA HEPATEN consists of pitted myrobalan fruits, amla fruits, terminalia bellirica fruits and choline bitartrate. The three tannin-rich fruits from the Indian subcontinent contain valuable bitter substances, tannins and polyphenols, which are described in the literature as antioxidative.

PADMA HEPATEN is based on the traditional Tibetan recipe “Bras bu 3“, which was already described in the 8th century by the Tibetan scholar Yuthok Yonten Gonpo. According to the Tibetan constitutional doctrine, the formula is used when there is an excess of chintri (liver heat). The myrobalan fruit is also known as the “royal plant” and is considered to be the fruit of the Medicine Buddha. Due to its balancing properties, it can be found in many Tibetan recipes.

In combination with the valuable micronutrient choline, PADMA HEPATEN can help maintain normal liver function.

1 capsule contains: pitted myrobalan fruits 200 mg, amla fruits 100 mg, terminalia bellirica fruits 100 mg, choline bitartrate 55mg.

Recommended consumption

When needed, take 2 capsules 2 times a day. It is best to take 2 capsules with hot water after breakfast and 2 before bedtime. Do not take more than 4 capsules daily.

If you want to keep the digestion of fats and the liver functions in balance and support their natural active phases, PADMA GALETEN can be combined with PADMA HEPATEN as an all-round protection for the natural liver function.

In this case, take 2 capsules of PADMA GALETEN in the morning and 2 capsules of PADMA HEPATEN in the evening.

The liver and its various tasks

Nutrients from food are transported by blood from the intestines to the liver, are processed in this important organ and distributed via the bloodstream into the body’s cells.

In addition, metabolic products are transformed and detoxified in the liver. This is how around 2,000 litres of blood are purified every day. A healthy liver is not only used for cleansing, but is also important for metabolism, hormone balance and optimal digestion.

Bad nutrition, especially excessive consumption of alcohol, caffeine and ready meals, but also certain medications or mental and physical overload as well as stress can have a negative effect on liver function.

Liver functions such as the breakdown of metabolic products and regeneration tend to take place in the evening and at night. Thus, the liver reaches its highest activity in the night between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m.

The Tibetan perspective

According to Tibetan constitutional doctrine, liver energy responds to metabolic challenges and “toxins” with a cold Tripa imbalance. From a Tibetan point of view, the liver heat rises, but the liver function and energy decrease.

Such a disbalance of the fire element in the liver area requires consistent action, since the Tripa imbalance in the form of tsha ba (hot stage) can spread to the entire body. Due to the overload one feels tired, powerless or has a generally unpleasant physical feeling.

In the Tibetan constitutional doctrine, liver energy forms the elixir of life and gives vitality and energy. A detoxification cure is especially useful in case of stress e.g. by environmental toxins, pollutants, alcohol or after winter in spring. A liver regeneration can provide an energy boost from the inside.

THE TIBETAN COMPOSITION

Myrobalan fruits (tib.: arura) have a bitter, sweet, sour and astringent taste. In the Tibetan constitutional doctrine, the myrobalan fruit is said to play a primary role, since the plant has a balancing effect on all three energies of the body. Once arura was blessed by the Medicine Buddha before it was administered. It is the first plant used in the Tibetan constitutional doctrine.

Indian gooseberry (Phyllanthus emblica), also called aamla in Hindi. Indian gooseberry is an essential ingredient of the traditional Indian Ayurvedic (herbal) medicines.

Amla fruits (tib.: kyurura) with their acid taste and cooling properties also support the liver energy in a positive way. Thus, Tripa and Beken imbalances are compensated.

Terminalia bellirica fruits (tib.: barura) have a bitter and astringent taste which balances out the three body energies and positively supports the liver energy. They are especially helpful in the case of a Tripa/Beken imbalance.
